This weekend, at the Knockhill round of the Scottish Championships, did not go my way. As it was just a one day event, we left for the circuit on Sunday morning.
I planned to use a set of scrubbed tyres for the whole day and obviously I realise now that this was stupid.
I qualified on pole by 0.888 seconds with a good time (51.3s) so was happy that I had the pace over the other riders. It was a very cold day but dry and sunny.
In the first race, I was following the leaders closely and I felt much quicker so I planned to brake away on the last lap. Unfortunately, after several warnings from the wrecked tyre, it let go and I highsided out of the hairpin. Fortunately, the bike landed on top of myself which limited the damage to it but then I was beaten up but relatively uninjured.
I know that the crash was nothing to do with my riding so I am not deterred and I am very much looking forward to the final round of the BSB at Oulton Park this weekend and look forward to seeing everyone there.
David would like to thank the team and all his sponsors Digby Brown, Horsetiger, Kinsley and Bolton, Bikesportpics, Wallace Mitchell racing, UK Road and Race and Paul Dandy Plumbing contractors for the all their support during the year.
